DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrival to Guayaquil. Transfer to the hotel.
DAY 2: Guayaquil Historic Park visit. This cultural park is a place you can’t miss while in Guayaquil. It contains three different zones: the wildlife zone, the traditional zone and the architectural preservation zone. You will be able to observe Guayaquil’s flora and fauna along with its customs and the farmer’s life from the Ecuadorian coast recreated in a typical hacienda house from 100 years ago. In the evening you will enjoy a City Tour where you’ll visit Malecón 2000, the traditional neighborhood of Las Peñas and the Santa Ana Hill, places where the city was founded. We recommend going up the steps of the Santa Ana Hill for a magnificent view of the city.
DAY 3: Early departure to Ecuador’s Pacific coast. Our first stop is at the Real Alto Museum, this archeological complex includes fine examples of pre-Hispanic traditional housing and local agricultural techniques. Then we will advance towards the northern beaches while appreciating the beautiful coastal scenery through fishing villages like San Pablo, Monte Verde, Valdivia, among others. We’ll stop at Montañita, famous for its nightlife and its surf community. Continuing our trip along the ¨Pacific Way¨ you will be able to admire and even shop for a variety of traditional handcrafts from the region. Our next stop is a side trip to ¨Dos Mangas¨ village, mainly known for the making of ¨toquilla straw and tagua¨ handcrafts. You may choose to walk or horse-back ride (optional) to enjoy the tropical forest from the Chongon Colonche Mountain Range viewing waterfalls and water ponds. Accommodation at local hostel.

DAY 4: Morning visit to De la Plata Isle at Machalilla National Park. We will board a yacht to take us to the island, also known as “Petite Galapagos” because of its remarkable biodiversity. We will have the opportunity to observe seagulls and other species of birds. Next you’ll have leisure time for hiking the island’s trails or snorkeling. From July to September, we can observe the humpback whales interact and play during their mating season.
DAY 5: Visit to the “In Situ de Agua Blanca” museum located at Machalilla National Park, this museum contains pre-Hispanic archeological expositions next to sulfurous water ponds. After leaving the national park, we will visit one of the most beautiful white sand beaches of the Ecuadorian coast, "Los Frailes", there will be time for relaxation and sunbathing. We will return to Guayaquil after lunch.
DAY 6: Transfer to the airport for international flights.
